An Indian woman has been living with her 2 children in an apartment building in Hanau since the end of 2021. The father is violent, he is only allowed to see the children in the presence of the child welfare agency.

On May 11, 2022, he breaks into the apartment. He knows that his ex-wife has to go to work at a greengrocer's at 6 o'clock, but that the children are not going to school until later. He cuts the throat of the 7-year-old girl and throws the 11-year-old boy off the balcony. Then he flees, the police search for him, also in other European countries.

The son dies on the sidewalk, the mother collapses and is sent to a psychiatric clinic. One can see the act as a punishment for the mother.

Human rights activists believe that 100,000 honour killings are carried out every year, most of which are not reported to the authorities and some are even deliberately covered up by the authorities themselves, for example because the perpetrators are good friends with local policemen, officials or politicians. Violence against girls and women remains a serious problem in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Serbia and Turkey.
